Tooled leather is often applied on desktop writing surfaces, wall, furniture panels and seating. Leather is sturdy, however the regular use and wear can cause accelerated degradation. Wood is commonly used as the substrate to which the leather is attached. The wooden substrate can also degrade affecting the stability of leather covering. It is often necessary to remove the leather to repair the underlying structural problems.

Bernacki & Associates is able to conserve and repair old damaged leather surfaces or replace deteriorated leather with new one, patinated and distressed to match.

Many borders and tooling patterns are provided, as well as a range of materials including composition metals and actual gold and silver leaf. Bernacki & Associates also has the capacity to tool along difficult curved edges or along tooling lines following curved patterns.
